Meet Peter Morgan

Peter Morgan is an energetic, passionate and highly entertaining speaker and trainer in crisis and emergency management, leadership and crisis communications. With more than 33 years law enforcement senior command experience in numerous strategic, operational and leadership roles, he is an expert in helping individuals, teams and organizations think ahead, plan smart, respond fast and achieve success.

As a hostage negotiator for more than 24 years and Commander of the Hong Kong Police Crisis Negotiation Unit for more than 12 years, Peter has spoken and trained overseas law enforcement officers on critical incident negotiations and has been invited as a keynote speaker at numerous conferences, including the Calgary Crisis Negotiation Conference and the California Association of Hostage Negotiators Conference.

Peter has also been invited to speak at numerous international forums including the Interpol Strategic Planners Conference, Lyon; the Asia Pacific Centre for Security Studies, Hawaii; the ASEAN Bio-Preparedness Conference, Manila; and the Public Safety and Internal Security Asia Conference, Kuala Lumpur, where he has shared best practices and case studies in strategic and operational readiness and response.

As a Special Advisor to the Hong Kong Police Crisis Negotiation Unit, an Honorary Associate of the Hong Kong Police College and an Honorary Fellow of the Hong Kong University Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention, Peter continues to provide expert advice and guidance on crisis and emergency management, leadership and crisis communications.

Peter has also helped numerous individuals and groups to improve their leadership, communication and presentation skills and regularly runs training and workshops on how to improve these key skills.

Peter has also been a regular adventure team leader and videographer, leading and filming several climbing and trekking expeditions to Patagonia, Borneo as well as the summits of Kilimanjaro, Aconcagua and Mt. McKinley (now called Denali).

Peter is originally from Wales and has lived in Switzerland, UK and Hong Kong. He was awarded the Police Distinguished Service Medal (PDSM) in 2015 for exemplary service throughout his 33-year policing career.
